Mayor Vegro Bigov announced today that he will be implementing a city-wide fifteen-cent tax on taxes in order to fund a new program to improve the image and marketing of the mayor's office.According to Conolia University's Professor Paniklowsky, a self proclaimed economist, the tax tax taxes itself. "This new tax is written horribly," Paniklowsky explained to Conolia News, " What we'll see is that this tax doesn't exclude itself. This will perpetuate an infinite loop of taxation. Every business and citizen of Conolia will owe and infinite number of taxes. Run for it! Conolia is doomed!"
Even though the tax tax was only announced moments ago, 43 companies have already issued press releases stating their intention to move their business to another location and over two-hundred houses have been listed as for sale. People have gathered in front of the capital building in protest and have been taxed accordingly.
When we asked Mayor Bigov about the impending doom of Conolia, the mayor pretended to answer his phone and yelled at us, "sorry, I can't hear you! I'm going through a tunnel!" We found that odd sense we were standing right there.
